John is a graduate of the Loomis School, Windsor, CT and the American Academy, McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, New York City.

John also served on numerous community boards and commissions over the past 40 years including Connecticut Council for Hospice & Palliative Care and as a Trustee of Mount Ida College, Newton, MA. He is past President of the Windsor Kiwanis Club and Past Exalted Ruler of Windsor Lodge # 2060 BPOE. He is Past Chair and Co-Founder of Mary's Place, A Center for Grieving Children & Families, chairman of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery, President of Avon Dollars for Scholars, and board member of both the Avon Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army.

John is a Past President of the National Funeral Directors Association and Connecticut Funeral Directors Association. He is a member of Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon and is a member of the scholarship committee of Prince Thomas Savoy Italian Society, Avon.

Currently residing in Avon, he is married to Linda (Smith) Carmon, and is the father of four sons: Jay and his wife Christina; Scott and his wife Hilary; Matthew; and Adam and his wife Nicole; and grandfather of Hannah, Avery, Juliana, Catherine, Elizabeth, and Charlotte.

Over the past ten years, John has had the privilege of making trips to Sri Lanka, Africa, Kazakhstan, Jordan, and Haiti. This personal journey and experience of working with different people around the world has renewed within him a greater understanding of the responsibility we have to share our abundant blessings with others.

Frank W. Carmon, IV Funeral Director

Frank Carmon is a third generation funeral director and embalmer. Frank graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1998 and from St. John's University in 1999. In 2006, he received his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut, School of Business with a concentration in finance.

He is a member and past president of the Exchange Club of Windsor, and a member and trustee of Washington Lodge #70, A.F. & A.M. Frank has also served on the board of directors of the Windsor Historical Society and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, boating, scuba diving, traveling, and reading.

J. Edward "Jed" Dery, III Funeral Director | CFSP

J. Edward "Jed" Dery, III, CFSP was born and raised in the small town of Dalton, Massachusetts in the Berkshires, just outside of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Growing up, Jed appreciated and respected the funeral profession, as his family owned and operated three funeral homes in the Pittsfield area. He attended parochial schools from grammar school through high school. He continues his strong Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Church in Suffield. Jed attended Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in 1991. He then continued his education at Mt. Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts where he received an Associates degree in Mortuary Science in 1993. Jed has been an employee at Carmon Funeral Homes since June of 1993. He is a member of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Jed, his wife Michele along with their two daughters, Jessica and Marissa, and one son, Nicholas, make their home in Suffield, Connecticut.

Jay is a third generation funeral director who is dedicated to providing the same commitment to the families and communities that he serves that his grandfather, father, and uncles have done for over 64 years.

He is a graduate of the New England Institute at Mt. Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts. Previously he was owner/manager of "Jay's Hometown Grill" in Windsor Center.

He lives in Windsor with his wife Christina, and three daughters, Juliana, Catherine, and Elizabeth. They are members of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Willimantic, Connecticut.

A part of the Windsor community for many years, he is a former member of the Poquonock Volunteer Fire Company, past member and board member of the Windsor Exchange Club, 2010-2012 President of Windsor's First Town Downtown, and planning committee member of the Windsor's 375th Anniversary Celebration.

Jay and his wife love to travel. They enjoy hiking, camping, and especially spending time with their children.

Jason was born and raised in Windsor and is a graduate of Windsor High School. He studied music at Indiana University for two years, before attending mortuary school. Jason graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service with the Class of 1998. A licensed funeral director, Jason has been with Carmon Funeral Homes since 1996. Jason received the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner designation in 2003, and the Certified Preplanning Counselor designation in 2004. In January of 2004 he was promoted to Manager of the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home in Suffield, where he managed day to day operations for the past 9 years. In November of 2013 he was promoted to Manager of the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home in South Windsor; where he is responsible for helping families within the community with funeral arrangements and takes care of the day-to-day operations.

Jason lives in Suffield with his wife Andrea, their three sons, Brian, Jack and Daniel, and their daughter Elizabeth. He and his family attend Second Baptist Church in Suffield. Active within the community, he is a member of the Rotary Club of South Windsor and Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance. He volunteers as a coach with the Suffield Little League and enjoys spending time with his family boating and fishing in Maine and on the Connecticut shore.

Gary is a licensed funeral director and manager of the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home in Vernon and the Ladd Funeral Home in Rockville. He joined the Carmon Funeral Homes in 1992. Prior to earning his degree, Gary served in the Marine Corps from 1974 to 1980. In 1986, he graduated magna cum laude from the New England Institute with a degree in Mortuary Science. Gary, along with his staff in Vernon, earned the Pursuit of Excellence Award for the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home. Gary is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, President of the Vernon Lions Club, and past board member of the Tolland Chamber of Commerce.

Gary resides in East Windsor with his wife of 33 years, Sharon. They have two children, Richard and Stephanie. Gary's interests include attending hockey games, fishing, barbecuing, and spending time with his family.

Robert D. Turkington Funeral Director

Robert D. Turkington, son of Charlene Turkington and the late Fred Turkington, joined his father in the family firm in 1982. He assumed ownership of Ladd Funeral Home after his father's death in 1988. His wife Linda joined him the following year and together they expanded the firm with the opening of the Ladd-Turkington Funeral Home in 1992, merging with Carmon Community Funeral Homes in 2002. Bob was raised in Vernon and graduated with honors from Rockville High School and also Manchester Community College. He graduated Cum Laude from the New England Institute, Boston, MA. He is a life member of Fayette Chapter, Order of DeMolay, holds the degree of Chevalier, and is a member of Fayette Lodge No. 69 A.F. & A.M.

Bob received his designation as Certified Funeral Service Practitioner in 2003 and is a licensed insurance agent. He speaks on funeral service and bereavement to churches, schools and hospice groups, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Connecticut, School of Family Studies. Bob serves on the Advisory Board of Rockville Bank as an Incorporator of Charter Oak Community Bank Corp, on the Board of Directors of the Vernon Education Foundation, and as a fire-fighter/EMT with the Town of Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. He is also a member of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, and he is a Trustee for the Eastern Connecticut Health Network. In addition to his duties at the funeral home, Bob is pursuing his degree in paramedic studies at Capitol Community College. He and his wife live on Bolton Lake in Vernon.

Daniel J. Kochapski Funeral Director

Daniel J. Kochapski was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, a small town in the “Berkshires” of Western Massachusetts. He attended parochial schools from kindergarten through high school and was a 1998 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts in June of 2002. For the next ten years he worked in Corporate America, primarily for several insurance companies, including Fidelity Investments, Pacific Life, Berkshire Life Insurance Company and Guardian.

In the Spring of 2012, after the death of his father, Daniel made a life altering career change and began his journey in funeral service. Daniel was a 2014 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, where he obtained an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. Daniel previously worked for Devanny-Condron Funeral Home and Dery Funeral Home both located in Pittsfield.

Daniel joined Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center in Avon as a Funeral Director in October of 2017. He is duly licensed in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Daniel is a member of both the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Daniel is a parishioner of the Church of Saint Ann in Avon. Daniel’s Catholic faith, empathy and compassion allow him to continue to impact the many families he has served during his journey in funeral service.

In his spare time Daniel is an avid golfer, New England Sports fan and New England Patriots enthusiast. He also enjoys spending time with his family, especially his three nieces and three nephews. Daniel resides in Avon.

June R. Williams graduated from Wayne State University, School of Mortuary Science in 1982 and in 1989 received her Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University. She has been a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in the State of Michigan for 35 years, State of Connecticut for 8 years, as well as both the States of Illinois and Indiana for 2 years. Mrs. Williams is a Certified Preneed Consultant (CPC) - the only national certification program in the specialized field of advance pre-planning, Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) - the highest professional designation you can achieve in Funeral service, and a member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice- committed to life-long learning and excellence in funeral service. In 2008, she was honored as a member of the 100 BWFS Women of Distinction and in 2010 received the 100 BWFS Business Entrepreneur of the Year award. She was the Vice President of the Michigan Select Funeral Directors Association for 5 years. June participated with the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association serving families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Tragedy (2012) and has presented at both NFDA and NFDMA conventions on topics including, Hospice and the Funeral Director and Expectations of the Industry: A Message to Mortuary Students.

Prior to joining Carmon Community Funeral Homes in 2017, Mrs. Williams served families in Concord Family Services for over 16 years, and was the General Manager of both Golden Gate Funeral Home, Chicago, IL and Smith Bizzell & Warner Funeral Home, Gary, Indiana. Mrs. Williams in an active part of the Funeral Service Industry and holds memberships in various organizations including: National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, Illinois Selected Morticians Association, Indiana Funeral Directors Association, Cook County Funeral Directors Association.

June is a mother to two wonderful children as well as an adopted mother to her furry friend and rescue dog, Rocky.

Kathy Mroczka Funeral Director

Kathy Mroczka was raised in Meriden CT, the youngest of five children. When Kathy was only 12, she suffered the tragic loss of her father. Since then, she has felt compelled to help people who are facing one of the most difficult times in their lives; the loss of a loved one.

Kathy graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI with a BS in Business Management and worked for a time at the Hartford Courant in the obituary department. It was there that she met Bill Carmon and began working for Carmon Funeral Home. Kathy was the manager of the Vital Statistics Department for 15 years before deciding to become a Licensed Funeral Director.

Kathy graduated Suma Cum Laude from the American Academy McAllister Institute, receiving the Mu Sigma Alpha Award for Outstanding Academic Proficiency and the Board of Trustees Award for Scholastic Achievement. She is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, and a member of both the National Funeral Directors Association and the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association. She is a Pre Planning Specialist.

Kathy resides in Middletown with her husband and two sons and is actively involved with their hockey and baseball teams. She is also an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

She was a native of Latvia, has traveled extensively, and is multilingual. Guided by her deep understanding of the needs of clientele, and blessed with an intense attention to detail and complete dedication to her craft, she is uniquely gifted with both an empathetic heart and highly technical skills. June is a mother to two wonderful children as well as an adopted mother to her furry friend and rescue dog, Rocky.

Kathy Mroczka was raised in Meriden CT, the youngest of five children. When Kathy was only 12, she suffered the tragic loss of her father. Since then, she has felt compelled to help people who are facing one of the most difficult times in their lives; the loss of a loved one.

Kathy graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI with a BS in Business Management and worked for a time at the Hartford Courant in the obituary department. It was there that she met Bill Carmon and began working for Carmon Funeral Home. Kathy was the manager of the Vital Statistics Department for 15 years before deciding to become a Licensed Funeral Director.

Kathy graduated Suma Cum Laude from the American Academy McAllister Institute, receiving the Mu Sigma Alpha Award for Outstanding Academic Proficiency and the Board of Trustees Award for Scholastic Achievement. She is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, and a member of both the National Funeral Directors Association and the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association. She is a Pre Planning Specialist.

Kathy resides in Middletown with her husband and two sons and is actively involved with their hockey and baseball teams. She is also an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Eviya Vaciete is a board certified and fully licensed embalming specialist with outstanding talent in the art of restorative services and presentation. She was a native of Latvia, has traveled extensively, and is multilingual. Guided by her deep understanding of the needs of clientele, and blessed with an intense attention to detail and complete dedication to her craft, she is uniquely gifted with both an empathetic heart and highly technical skills. She brings a passion and conviction to her work. Eviya is a member of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association.

Jason Mosher

Jason was born and raised in Windsor, Connecticut. A 1998 graduate of Windsor High School, Jason attended American International College from 1998 - 2000. He received a Bachelors Degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2002. Jason began his apprenticeship at Carmon Funeral Homes and became a licensed funeral director in 2004. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association.
